Description of Position

Community Counseling of Bristol County is seeking bachelor’s level candidates to work in our In-Home Therapy (IHT) and Therapeutic Mentoring (TM) programs.

  • Full time 40-hour position
  • Afternoon and evening hours are required, Saturday hours available but not required
  • A collaborative team approach that values self-care.
  • Receive weekly individual and trauma-informed group supervision from a licensed clinician
  • Receive training on trauma, family systems, early childhood mental health, safety planning and emotional regulation skills
  • Flexibility to pursue graduate school
  • We have adult and children’s programs that provide a variety of Master’s level internships
  • Provide services in the greater Taunton/Attleboro area

Therapeutic Training & Support Counselors (TT&S) work as part of a team with an experienced clinician to:

  • Provide strength-based family therapy and 1:1 support to children ages birth to 21
  • Assist the IHT clinician in implementing the therapeutic objectives of the treatment plan to address the youth's social, behavioral, and emotional needs

Therapeutic Mentors (TM) provide one to one intervention to:

  • Address daily living, social, communication and emotional regulation skills with children ages 7 to 21 in community settings
  • Support and coach youth in developing age-appropriate behaviors, self-management skills, problem-solving skills, and conflict resolution skills.

Both TT&S and TM staff will:

  • Receive extensive training, in-person and virtual opportunities to observe sessions before building a caseload
  • Collaborate with outpatient providers, psychiatrists, schools, daycare program, and social service agencies
  • Join together with team members for personal and professional development activities
  • Learn how to educate and model strategies for youth and families
  • Develop assessment, intervention and crisis management skills

  • Starting salary $46,000 with opportunity for supplemental earnings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Bilingual staff (Spanish) and staff with early childhood experience encouraged to apply
  • One year of experience working with children and families; volunteer and internship experience will be considered
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must possess good organizational skills, as well as effective verbal, written and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with computers including ability to use or learn to use an electronic health record system, audio-visual communication technology (Zoom), and use of Microsoft Office suite for emails, internal document access, and organization.
