Description of Position

Pathways, our Day Treatment Program, is a community-based psychiatric recovery program providing a therapeutic alternative for adults and elders experiencing persistent mental illness or acute crisis. The program offers active, structured group therapy, and a therapeutic milieu designed to treat individuals experiencing symptoms of major mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.

We are looking for a clinician who is licensed, or on track to obtain licensure, to provide diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, case coordination, crisis intervention, and aftercare planning. We are also seeking a BA level clinician to join our multidisciplinary team. Our trauma-informed clinicians lead therapeutic groups and educate and assist clients in the development and utilization of coping skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and consult as member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments/diagnostic evaluations for assigned clients
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on identified needs
  • Document clients’ progress throughout treatment
  • Facilitate a range of therapeutic and psychoeducational groups
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Offer collateral contact and aftercare planning for discharge

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Ability to complete documentation in a timely manner
  • BA level candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • MA level candidates must have a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field
  • MA Candidates must also hold a license (LICSW, LMHC) or be on track to obtain licensure.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience facilitating therapeutic and psychoeducational groups
  • Experience working with adult and elder psychiatric population
  • Knowledge of symptoms and psychosocial issues related to this population
  • Ability to recognize, assess, and respond to crisis situations
