Description of Position

We are currently seeking a clinician to expand the Mobile Crisis Team. The clinician in this role will provide emergency diagnostic evaluations, develop appropriate treatment/disposition both on-site and in the community, and connect families with services that fit their needs. As part of the MCI (Mobile Crisis Intervention) multidisciplinary team, our clinician will take part in identifying and implementing strategies to maximize utilization of community-based diversionary services and reduce unnecessary inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.

Job responsibilities
  • Conduct mobile, on-site, face-to-face emergency diagnostic evaluations to identify, assess, treat, and stabilize crises reducing immediate risk to the individual and others
  • Support clients and families to maintain safety during crises including developing safety plans, providing educational services, and identifying social and natural supports
  • Collaborate with treatment teams, agencies, hospitals, courts and insurance companies regarding emergency evaluation and treatment of patients in crisis
  • Respond to emergency phone calls offering phone triage and area resources
  • Attend community-based meetings with the adult, their families, and providers to assist with advocacy and addressing safety concerns
  • Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision, staff meetings, staff development, and training curriculum
  • Complete required program documentation and mandated reports

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
  • Licensed in Massachusetts (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT), or license eligible
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience working with individuals, youth and their families in a clinical role within a mobile delivery system (internship or professional)
  • Knowledge of and experience with utilizing Child Behavioral Health Initiative services (CBHI)
  • Experience with computers, specifically Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems preferred
