Description of Position

We are looking for a candidate to join our team who has flexibility, creativity and the desire to improve the functioning of children, ages 1 to 21, and their families. We provide intensive family therapy and parenting skills to children who exhibit emotional and behavioral challenges due to trauma, anxiety, depression and ADHD. As a member of the IHT team, you will work alongside a Bachelor’s level counselor to teach emotional regulation skills, develop safety plans, educate families about the impact of trauma, support parents in learning trauma-informed parenting skills and assist family members in improving communication and connectedness. If you are looking to enhance your clinical skills or are new to the field, this is the position for you. We provide the training and support, you provide the energy and commitment to enhancing the lives of children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strength-based assessments and treatment plans
  • Provide safety planning and crisis management
  • Deliver trauma-informed interventions
  • Collaborate with team members and other providers
  • Provide support and skills to keep children in their homes and out of the hospital
  • Complete required documentation in the electronic health record
  • Provide on-call phone support on a rotating basis
  • Receive weekly Reflective Supervision and monthly trauma-informed group supervision
  • Develop both personally and professionally by joining one of our committees, attending our Wellness Fair and receiving training in ARC, ARC Grow, Early Childhood Mental Health, Family Therapy and family-driven crisis management

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Family Therapy, Social Work or a related field
  • License (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW) not required, must be license eligible
  • One year of experience working in a clinical setting with children and families (including internships)
  • Good organizational skills, in addition to effective verbal, written and computer skills
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing trauma-informed interventions
  • Understanding of trauma, family systems and family therapy
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Flexible thinking and problem solving skills
