CBFS Peer Specialist

Seeking full or part-time peer specialists to utilize their lived experience as a person with mental illness in the support and recovery of CBFS clients. Duties include:
  • Provide individual and group peer support
  • Provide recovery resource information to clients and staff
  • Serve as a mentor to promote hope and empowerment
  • Serve as a linkage to the Recovery Learning Community
  • Participate in other general program responsibilities including rehabilitation, support, supervision and housing services
While a degree in human services is preferred, there is no specific educational requirement for this position but certification as a Certified Peer Specialist is expected within one year of hire. Certification as a WRAP trainer is a plus. Must have lived experience as a person in recovery from mental illness with at least one year of sustained recovery time; must possess good organizational skills, effective written, verbal, and computer skills.
