CBFS Co-Occurring Disorders Coordinator

Seeking full-time Co-occurring Disorders Coordinator for new mental health service type, Community Based Flexible Supports (CBFS), a Department of Mental Health funded service. This program provides a range of rehabilitation, support, supervision, housing and recovery services to mentally ill adults in a variety of community settings. This position focuses on services to program clients experiencing both mental illness and addiction. In addition to participating in the general care of program client, this position has the following duties:
  • Organize, supervise, and deliver the addictions related services to program clients
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of co-occurring disorders services and activities
  • Provide support to individuals in recovery
  • Provide information and referral information to clients and staff
  • Participate in the development and implementation of client Individual Action Plans
  • Participate in the staff training curriculums
This position requires a bachelor's degree in human services plus three year of relevant experience or five years experience as a substance abuse counselor; Addictions/Substance abuse certification preferred or must be working towards such.

In addition to education / training requirements, must have at least one year experience working with adults with mental illness. Lived experience and ability to use that experience to serve other preferred. Must have at least two years of sustained recovery; experience assessing substance abuse and mental health disorders; knowledge of recovery resources; experience with diverse populations; experience facilitating groups and recovery-based activities. Must possess good organizational skills and effective written, verbal and computer skills.
